History

History of LXP

The Leadership Experience was founded by George Mwanza in Jeffreys Bay, South Africa in 2006. LXP is a cross-cultural discipleship program developing servant leaders which focuses on character formation and servanthood as it confronts the common aspirations of leadership that focus on the promotion of self. During LXP’s student program in South Africa, student volunteers participate in classroom lessons on character, spiritual formation, and life-skills development, while spending most of their time in experiential learning through regular community outreach initiatives.

Godfrey Mosobase was a student of LXP in 2007. He was inspired to return to his home in Butha-Buthe, Lesotho and found LXP Lesotho in 2009. Burdened by the challenges of poverty, HIV, orphans, depression, and godlessness facing his community, Godfrey began a youth and community outreach ministry. LXP Lesotho is committed to the vision of realizing holistic community transformation through servanthood. Our focus is building discipling relationships with youth and their families, through which we seek to serve them and encourage them to follow Jesus in living pure lifestyles and choosing godly values and behavior. We desire to see a transformative movement of the Gospel where adults and young people become a source of change among their families, friends, and communities.
