Outreach to the Mountains
When Godfrey founded LXP Lesotho in 2009, he envisioned that after five years of discipleship he would take a group of these young leaders deep into the mountains of Lesotho to share the love of Christ with those who’ve never heard about Him. Next month will mark the realization of this long awaited dream.
December 8 – 16 we will be going on an outreach to the mountain village of Makopela with 15 of our youth leaders. Our vision is a movement of simple bible study groups who follow Jesus and teach others how to follow Him. We will visit people in their homes to teach about Jesus and gather neighbors and friends into small groups who will continue to meet to pray, study bible, and fellowship together. In the long run we plan to put together a team of young people who will visit Makopela and neighboring villages at least once a year to evaluate the work, encourage the believers, and continue to share the Gospel.
This week we went to Makopela to meet with the chief and make other preparations for the outreach. The three-hour drive was stunningly beautiful and we were equally blessed by the warm reception we received upon arrival. We trust the Lord for an incredible time of meeting, loving, and serving the people of Makopela next month.
” Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”

Please pray with us for the following:
– The Lord will prepare the hearts of the youth who will be going on the outreach
– The Lord will prepare the hearts of those we will meet and share with in Makopela
– Safety, health, and favorable weather as we travel and visit in the mountains
– That many people will come to know Jesus and choose to follow Him in a radical way
– Financial and logistical provision for the needs of the outreach (specifically R4,500 ($450), reliable transport for the team, and the use of a luggage trailer)
– A blessing on the families who release their youth to go on the outreach, the families and individuals of Makopela who welcome us, and the chief who has given us an open door to serve his community
