The Walls of the House are Complete!

On Monday, May 20th, the walls of the house were completed! We are so thrilled we’ve reached this huge milestone in the building project. It’s a testimony of God’s faithfulness in provision and to the love and generosity of all our wonderful supporters.

The next step is to fund raise the money to start roofing the house. We also need to find an expert roofer to do the job, so please pray for wisdom and favor as we “shop around”. Before finding our roofer and receiving a quotation, our best estimate for the cost of roofing is around R50,000 ($5,600). Once we get the actual estimate, we’ll provide the updated figures. If you’d like to contribute towards the roofing phase, check our donate page for your giving options. Thank you for following along with us in this incredible journey!

Fun facts about the house:

–       2,530 cinder blocks were used

–       89 bags of cement (50 kg) were used

–       10 cubic meters of rough sand were used

–       11 cubic meters of fine sand were used

–       There are 14 rows of cinder blocks from foundation to roof
